The Power of the ‘Stache | SRC Raises $10K For Men’s Health

Throughout the month of November, SRC Holdings and its subsidiaries participated in theMovember Foundation’s campaign to support prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives.  The company was motivated to use the power of the mustache to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.

Employees were to start the beginning of November with a clean shave, updating profile each week with their mustache or beard growth through November 30.  The ladies could also get involved with the MOVE campaign, where participants pledged to complete 30 minutes of exercise a day for 30 days.

Participants then solicited funds from friends, family and mini-games within the organization to help the cause.

SRC is proud to announce that it, along with its family of companies, has raised over $10,000to help support men’s health through the Movember and MOVE campaigns.  This is well over the 2014  Movember total of $7,100.

The Health Issues We are Fighting


Since 30 friends first grew moustaches in Melbourne, Australian in 2003, we have grown to become the largest men’s health movement in the world. We’d like to take this moment as moustache season comes to a close to thank you for your incredible support. We continue to be astonished by the efforts of the Mo community— each and every one, whether Mo Bro, Mo Sista or donor, has helped us achieve an incredibly successful year.

Well over $650 million has now been raised globally and those numbers increase every day.

We’re making progress but we’ve a long way to go to move the dial on the state of men’s health. The statistics speak for themselves:

  • More than 1.1 million cases of prostate cancer were recorded in a single year, making it the second most common cancer in men worldwide.
  • The incidence of men diagnosed with testicular cancer has doubled over the past 50 years.
  • 510,000 men die from suicide each year, globally. That’s one every minute.
  • 41% of men in high income countries are insufficiently physically active. []
