In 2000, a North American brake manufacturer in the on highway market came to NewStream (NSE) with a challenge. The manufacturer, who was predominately focused on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sales, needed help servicing the needs of its aftermarket customers.
The solution was to utilize NSE as the North American Parts Distribution Center (PDC), providing warehousing and distribution from its Springfield, Missouri warehouse.
The results were increased efficiencies, customers service, and revenue for the manufacturer. NSE continuously met and exceeded strict quality metrics, including 100% on-time delivery and 99.9% inventory accuracy, breaking monthly and weekly shipping records along the way.
With supply chain under control at NSE, the manufacturer had the ability to focus on sales growth. In fact, through utilizing NSE’s services, the manufacturer has been able to increase top line sales two-fold and move all parts to a 48 hour lead time on all stocked parts.
Furthermore, NSE’s services have grown within the account. To increase efficiencies and support to the customer, NSE added a packaging line for the manufacturer, as well as skin pack capabilities, a distribution center in Canada, and a dedicated customer service representative within its facility to communicate with customers on the manufacturer’s behalf.
