Briefly describe your work history at NewStream.
I first joined NewStream in 2021 as a Material Specialist when SPP was getting started. I worked here for about a year and a half before leaving for another opportunity. Recently, I returned to NewStream as a Material Specialist, and I’m excited to continue growing my career here.
Describe your new role. What are your responsibilities? Do you have any goals for your new position?
As a Production Lead, my focus is on leading the production team, ensuring we meet safety and quality standards, improving efficiency, training employees, and helping the team achieve our daily production goals. Right now, my biggest goal is to absorb as much knowledge as I can and continue learning.
Describe a project you worked on at NewStream that you’re proud of.
One project I’m especially proud of was helping redesign the SPP warehouse layout. We removed storage racks, created fast lanes for product flow, and made materials more accessible for everyone. The changes improved efficiency, created more floor space, and helped the team move products faster.
What’s your favorite part of working at NewStream?
The people. I enjoy working with a team that’s always willing to help each other out, and I appreciate being part of an environment where hard work and personal growth are recognized.
How has NewStream contributed to your professional growth?
NewStream has invested in my development from the beginning. After interviewing for leadership positions a couple of times, I let my leaders know I wanted to continue growing within the company. They encouraged me, provided feedback, and helped me prepare for future opportunities. I’ve also participated in a variety of training programs, including efactory courses, Great Game of Business classes, MiniGame training, and leadership development opportunities. If you’re willing to learn and grow, NewStream gives you the resources to do it.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife, Pilar, and I have a two-year-old daughter who keeps us busy, so family is at the center of everything I do.
What’s your guilty pleasure snack/dessert?
Cookiesโespecially a classic chocolate chip cookie. You can never go wrong with that.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would give back to my community.
Do you have a/any nickname(s)? If so, what’s the story behind it/them?
I’ve gone by “Valo” since I was a kid. It’s a childhood nickname that stuck, and that’s what most people know me by.
What’s a surprising/weird fact about you?
I’m a huge sports fan. If it’s competitive, I’ll probably watch it.
What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and the chance to continue growing alongside the company.
